Maison — The Color

Color is not decoration.
It is emotion made visible.

For JOCQUELINE, color is not something added at the end. It is one of the reasons a design begins.

Color Is the Beginning

One shape.
Many characters.

One pink can feel as light as spring air. One brown can feel as warm as aged wood. One blue can stay with you like evening in an unfamiliar city.

The same bag takes on an entirely different character when its color changes. That is why, at JOCQUELINE, color is not simply an option. It is another identity for each piece.

Color & Leather

Color begins
with leather.

We do not see color apart from leather. The same shade looks entirely different depending on the grain, the softness and the finish. Light settles one way on a fine grain and another way on buffed nubuck, and a familiar color can suddenly reveal a depth you did not expect.

That is why choosing a color also means choosing the leather that carries it best. For us, color begins with material.

Inside & Out

Two colors.
One expression.

Color at JOCQUELINE does not end on the outside of the bag. We design the shade you see when it is closed together with the shade revealed when you open it.

The outside speaks first. The inside is a more private scene, discovered up close by the person who carries it. Sometimes the two create a clear contrast; sometimes neighboring tones are layered for a quieter depth.

The outside makes an impression.
The inside makes it personal.

Where Our Colors Come From

Colors we find
in life.

We rarely begin with a color chart. A color may begin with a scoop of sea-salt ice cream, a plate of olives, a box of macarons, a bunch of roses, or the warm brown of kraft paper. We collect these moments, give each one a name, and then look for it again in leather.

Some become bags. Some become the cases and small things you hold every day. And sometimes, a single moment becomes a color you carry for years.

Colors That Last

Colors you will
reach for again.

Rather than chasing the color of the season, we look for shades you will still want to carry years from now.

And through unexpected combinations, familiar leather can feel freer and more contemporary.
